Nature "ART ATTACK!"

Today students from our class joined Mrs. Agnoletto and Mrs. Kramer's classes to create some nature art.  Students used materials from our playground to create a piece of artwork that we all could enjoy.  Here is a collage of their creations.

Our Harvest Stone Soup

Our class loved seeing all the different vegetables brought in for our Harvest Stone Soup.  It turned out wonderful and tasted delicious.  Enough so that some students had seconds and thirds or our soup.  Thank you to all our Kindergarten Families for contributing to it.

Through soup making, we counted, we sorted by shape, size and colour, we identified different vegetables, talked about the seeds that were inside some and how they could grow new plants, talked about healthy foods, measured and learned procedural steps to make soup and enjoyed tasting  delicious concoction!

Learning by doing is always AWESOME!

Harvest Soup - Bring a Veggie

This week, we are starting to talk about the "Fruits & Vegetables" section of our Canadian Food Guide. We've been talking about HARVESTS and we were luck to have a school-wide Harvest lunch on Friday.

This week we will be exploring different vegetables that we can harvest and will be using them in our "Harvest Stone Soup" on Thursday. Students are asked to bring in one vegetable to contribute to our exploration and soup.

Please bring in a veggie tomorrow (Tuesday, October 14th).

Messy...but oh, so much fun!

Our class had a BLAST joining with the other primary classes today to play in the mud.  We got dirty.  We got wet, and we ALL had a great time.  The students learned that watery-mud flows better through pipes, while thicker mud makes a better building material.  Sand makes a gritty mud, while potting soil makes a gooey and goopy mud.
