HAPPY THANKSGIVING

What a beautiful weekend!  The sun's shining, the weather is cooperative and my family even wore shorts today.  Short in October?  Yep, it's just one of those lovely days.

It days like these that I stop, look around and think about all the things I'm thankful for.  I'm thankful for my family, my children, my extended family, my friends, my colleagues, the wonderful school that I work at and a job that I love.  I'm thankful to friends, for wonderful memories, for peace, for the wonderful country I live it and for all the things that I take for granted like runnign water, electricity, etc.

Wishing you all a Wonderful and Happy Thanksgiving.  Enjoy your family, your friends and loved ones!

What are you thankful for?

School's Out for Summer!

Well, we all survived the very first year of Full Day-Every Day Kindergarten.  I have truly enjoyed the school year and am amazed at the progress and development of all my students - academically and socially!  WOW!  What a wonderful group of students!!!  I look forward to another fantastic year in September!

Have a safe and happy summer everyone.

I Survived!

I survived our trip to the Science Centre today.  It was...quite interesting.  The students had a blast and were thoroughly entertained.  I think I can relax now for a bit now that I don't have to keep track of 28 energetic bodies bent on exploring and experimenting.  Not to prepare for SK graduation, our Water Fun Day and Picnic, Indoor Play Day and Outdoor Play Day!

Ziggurat Training

I spent the last two days at a Workshop Seminar being trained in the Ziggurat Model for students with ASD/Aspergers.  It was a LOT of information to digest but it was enjoyable.  Some of the things I learned can be applied to any classroom and can help many students cope with school.  I'm looking forward to implementing some ideas learned.
