Scanlon Creek Fun

What a FUN day at Scanlon Creek!!!!

Wonderful weather, fun activities and lots of action.

The students learned about Inuit games and got to play a few.  They LOVED the snow snake activity.  We learned which animals hibernate in winter and which ones do not.  We fed some chickadees when we went for a walk in the woods and some students saw other animals as well.  We learned how to use a kick-sled and the students had fun going up and down the sled run track.

We even learned how we can help animals in the winter, by making a suet and seed pinecone bird feeder for winter staying birds (chickadees, nuthatches, wood peckers, cedar wax-wings, grosbeaks, cardinals, redpolls, juncos, and blue jays).

As soon as I choose a few photos of our activities (out of the HUNDREDS I took), I will post them for you to enjoy.
